Shower Screen vs Full Enclosure: What's the Difference?

A bath shower and screen combination means the shower area has at least two existing walls, and a single panel closes the remaining open side — that single panel is the screen.
A full enclosure, by contrast, surrounds the shower on all four sides and includes a door plus side panels. The screen approach needs only one wall bracket line rather than a complete perimeter frame, which cuts both fabrication time and cost. A basic fixed bath screen typically starts from AED 800, while a fully framed enclosure can reach AED 7,000 or more. If three sides of your shower recess are already tiled walls, a screen is almost always the simpler and more cost-effective answer.

Shower Glass Screen Installation Across Dubai
Dubai apartmentsite visitcoverage area
We fit shower screen Dubai projects across every major residential zone — JVC, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Al Barsha, Mirdif, Downtown, Jumeirah, and Emirates Living villa clusters.
A Dubai apartment bathroom recess is rarely a perfect standard dimension, so each project begins with a site visit where we measure the exact opening and check wall alignment before any glass is cut. Coverage area extends to both mainland Dubai and the island communities. From the day of measurement, standard lead time is five to seven working days for fabrication and scheduling. On-site fitting of a single fixed or hinged panel takes between one and two hours in most cases.

Can a Screen Be Fitted Over a Bathtub?

Yes — a bathtub screen is a standard variant we fit regularly, using the same glass and fixing system as a conventional shower screen.
The panel runs along the long edge of the bath: a hinge mount on one end lets the screen swing open for easy entry, or a folding screen version concertinas when you need full bath access. Because Dubai's desalinated water has high mineral content, we recommend a hydrophobic coating on bath screens at the time of fitting — white scale spotting can appear within weeks on uncoated glass. Single-panel bath screen installations start from AED 700. Made-to-measure options cover non-standard bath widths common in villa builds from the early 2000s.

How the Screen Is Measured and Fitted

Fitting begins with measuring floor-to-ceiling height and the precise width of the opening, then marking anchor points for the wall bracket on the shower side.
Each bracket is drilled and fixed into concrete or tile backing using 304-grade stainless bolts — never standard steel, because Dubai's humidity regularly exceeds 90 percent and standard fixings corrode quickly. The tempered glass panel — 8mm for screens up to 1,000mm wide, 10mm for wider spans — slots into the bracket and is aligned with a spirit level before the hinge is torqued. Finally, a continuous silicone seal bonds the glass edge to the wall along its full height, closing any gap that could allow water to track behind the panel.
