How Does Balcony Glass Installation Work?
Balcony glass installation is a three-phase process — survey, fabrication, and on-site fixing — that converts an open or guarded balcony edge into a glazed balustrade system.
On the day our team arrives for glass railing installation, the anchor layout is already confirmed from the survey, so drilling begins immediately along the marked fixing line. A base shoe fixing is the most common anchoring method on solid concrete slab edges: a continuous aluminium channel bolted at 300–400 mm intervals that holds the bottom edge of each glass panel rigidly. Where a frameless look is preferred, individual stainless steel spigot mounts replace the continuous channel, clamping each panel at two points. Either approach uses 12mm toughened glass as the minimum grade — mandatory in Dubai given summer surface temperatures and Shamal-season silica abrasion, both of which stress under-specified glazing prematurely.
