Glass Shower Door vs Partition: What's the Difference?
A shower room glass door is a single moving panel — hinged, sliding, or pivoting — that seals a bathroom entry point but does not form the enclosure walls itself.
A door-only installation suits an alcove that already has two or three solid tiled walls, meaning no additional glass structure is needed. A partition-plus-door setup, by contrast, uses one or more fixed panel sections to define the wet zone in open bathroom space, with the door integrated into that same system. The distinction matters for quoting: a door-only job typically covers 0.6–0.9 m of glass, while a full partition-plus-door enclosure spans 1.5–3.5 linear metres. In Dubai's hard-water conditions, specifying the same hydrophobic nano-coating across both the fixed panel and the door glass keeps descaling maintenance consistent across the whole enclosure.
